What inspired you to join Mountaintop?

"Being part of a community of leaders with a vocation to serve their communities and countries with a global vision."

Dylan Pereira is Co-Founder and Editor-in-Chief of Revista Diplomacia, the only Venezuelan printed magazine for international relations and diplomacy in Venezuela, and a weekly opinion writer on human rights, democracy, and sustainable development for Diario El Universal, a major Venezuelan newspaper.

Dylan has watched polarization destroy the social cohesion of his country and aims to contribute to the national reconciliation necessary to mend divides and build a stronger Venezuela through a career in media, policy, and public service. His passion for strengthening education and combating fake news led him to co-found Diplomacia Magazine, which has gained the respect of all major political parties. Other accomplishments include publishing a weekly column in Diario El Universal. He is a recognized political analyst on foreign affairs in various TV shows with more than 500,000 viewers with more than 500,000 viewers, and serving as the academic coordinator of the Ibero-American Diplomatic Academy, which has trained over 700 graduates on diplomacy, international relations, and sustainable development. For his work, he has received in 2022 the Ibero-American Personality of the Year Award, distinction awarded by the Organization of Ibero-American Journalists at the Ateneo de Madrid, Spain, in recognition of contributions to youth leadership, the promotion of democracy and the promotion of Human Rights

Dylan graduated summa cum laude with a degree in Liberal Studies and Business Economics from Universidad Metropolitana in Caracas and will complete a Master's Degree in Political Action, Institutional Strengthening, and Citizen Participation in the Rule of Law at the Francisco de Vitoria University in Madrid in 2024. Recently, with a scholarship he participated in the Public Policy and Administration in a Disruptive and Transformative Era Symposium organized by the International Academic Program held on the campus of Harvard University. He is a member of the board of directors of various organizations such as the Vida Verde International Foundation and the Organization of Ibero-American Journalists. He has been a delegate to various international summits such as the World Youth Assembly at the Palace of Nations in Geneva, the Young Americas Forum, and /o Smart Cities Amsterdam.

For his fellowship, Dylan plans to launch a national youth forum to support negotiation and dialogue across political differences, equip youth leaders to develop a pan-partisan social movement, and develop actionable policy solutions to influence the direction of the country. Long term, Dylan plans to serve in the Venezuelan National Assembly and hopes to become a highly impactful public servant for his country, Latin America, and the world.
