Amara Chineme is a transformative leader and social entrepreneur dedicated to revolutionizing healthcare access and empowering women across Africa. As the Founder and CEO of Joymed Healthcare, she spearheads innovative solutions to enhance healthcare supply chains, ensuring the availability of affordable, high-quality medical supplies and equipment across public and private sectors. Through her strategic vision, Joymed Healthcare is reshaping healthcare delivery, leveraging digital inventory management and e-commerce platforms to reduce stockouts, enhance efficiency, and empower healthcare professionals.

Amara’s journey is a powerful testament to resilience and purpose. Over a decade ago, a life-altering stroke interrupted her corporate career but ignited her mission to uplift communities and empower women. Inspired by her grandmother, a retired nurse and single mother, Amara has dedicated her life to supporting women navigating similar challenges. This commitment led her to found EmpowerHERVenture, an initiative equipping single mothers and caregivers — especially those raising children with disabilities — with the skills and resources to break free from poverty and build thriving futures.

Her leadership extends beyond her ventures. As a coordinator for Smile Changers Foundation, Amara has championed oral health awareness and community development, directly impacting thousands of lives. Her mentorship with the Women in Africa Initiative has further amplified her influence, empowering women across Nigeria, Kenya, and Côte d'Ivoire to overcome economic challenges and drive sustainable development.

A graduate of Rutgers University’s Leadership in Business program and a Mandela Washington Fellow, Amara’s dedication to healthcare equity, women’s empowerment, and community upliftment has been recognized on global platforms, including the Pan African Women in Leadership Forum and various trade missions and summits.

Amara’s vision is clear: to create inclusive opportunities for women to lead transformative change, recognizing that their empowerment strengthens entire communities. Guided by the Swahili philosophy “Ubuntu Ni Utu” — meaning "I am because we are" — she believes in collective progress and the shared responsibility of building a better future.

For her Mountaintop Fellowship, Amara is focused on "Revolutionizing Healthcare Access in Kenya." This project aims to transform the healthcare supply chain through equitability, efficiency, and empowerment, creating a more resilient and accessible system that uplifts communities across the country.
